Counselling:
In a safe, non-judgmental setting, clients are encouraged to explore the issues and concerns of their lives that cause distress. Through a wide range of therapeutic techniques clients are assisted to gain new perspectives regarding the problems of their lives and empowered to make positive changes in their life circumstances.
Clients are assisted to gain control over their emotions, their thought patterns and their behaviour through exercises designed to explore values, beliefs and learned reactions to life situations.
Clients often come into counselling when they decide that they cannot manage a life problem on their own, or when the problem has grown in proportion and monopolizes their thoughts and their lives.
Periods of life transition are another time when clients often decide to come into counselling. Situations such as divorce, the loss of a loved one or taking on the responsibilities of marriage (remarriage) and family are often times when an individual decides to talk to an objective professional counsellor.
